Supervision agreement

The purpose of supervision is to provide a reflective, supportive, and ethically bound space in which the supervisee can develop professionally and personally, ensure client safety, and maintain good clinical practice in line with ethical guidelines from professional bodies such as the BACP, UKCP and NCPS.

As a supervisor, I integrate both the seven eyed model of supervision with other relevant frameworks to ensure that your supervision needs are met. We can discuss these needs in more detail during our first supervision session.

Qualifications, affiliations and modality:
I have a Masters Degree in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and as such abide by their Ethical Framework.

I work integratively with a person-centred base and support both adults and young people through this counselling approach. My core training was in person-centred counselling and I am able to supervise both private practice and organisational work such as school counselling and charities.

Currently I am working towards an Advanced Certificate in Counselling Supervision (including online and telephone work) with Counselling Tutor.

Supervision:
All members of BACP are required to have regular supervision. My work continues to be supervised to ensure that it is safe, ethical and effective. Aspects of our work may be discussed during these sessions, but identifiable details will be removed.

Record-Keeping

To ensure the effectiveness of our work, i will keep brief notes of sessions which will be securely stored and used only for professional purposes. These records will comply with GDPR and any other relevant data protection laws. Please refer to my data protection policy through my website, or request a paper copy.

Review and Feedback

Supervision will be reviewed every 6 months (or at an agreed time scale) to assess its effectiveness. Supervision is a collaborative process therefore feedback is welcomed and encouraged throughout the supervisory relationship.

Supervision for Training or Accreditation

If the supervisee is in training or seeking accreditation, both parties agree to meet the supervisory requirements of the relevant institution or accrediting body. It is the supervisees responsibility to ensure that they meet their supervision requirements. The supervisor will, if appropriate and agreed, provide written reports or references. Please give as much notice as possible for this as reports can be time consuming.
